Diamond Lake is located in Dayton, MN
The purpose of our organization is:
To support and conduct non-partisan research, education, and informational activities to increase public awareness of the Diamond Lake
To improve the lake quality and habitat
To prevent lake quality deterioration
Our main project for this year is treatment of the curly-leaf pondweed invasive species. We have conducted a whole-lake treatment of invasive curly-leaf pondweed for the fourth year. Here is our Facebook page.
We would like to thank The City of Dayton and MN DNR that are helping provide funding for the successful treatment of Diamond Lake.
NOTICE: 2026 Lake Treatment
The Diamond Lake Improvement Association has contracted to treat Curly Leaf Pondweed (CLP), an Aquatic Invasive Species in Diamond Lake in 2026.
Diamond Lake Improvement Association has requested from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to the Diamond Lake Improvement Association a waiver of the requirement that the Association obtain the signatures of approval of owners of lakeshore property. Instead the Diamond Lake Improvement Association will notify property owners of the treatment through alternate forms. This notice is one form that the Diamond Lake Improvement Association is using to notify property owners.
Other forms may include but are not limited to notification through the associations email list, website, annual newsletter, City of Dayton App (Alerts & Updates), and or DLIA meeting.
With regard to the treatment for this year, 2026:
1. The proposed date for treatment: April 1 through June 15, 2026.
2. The target species for the treatment: Curly Leaf Pondweed.
3. The method of control or product being used: EPA and MDA registered aquatic herbicides.
